Ecommerce News Roundup | 15 March 2023
It is nice to see His Majesty's Government being effective after all these years of chaos; the solution to Silicon Valley Bank's collapse has been swift, elegant and doesn't involve tax payers' money. Meanwhile the UK has a record number of start ups; perhaps a reflection of the flexibility of the modern digital workplace and the huge range of tools that make setting up business easier than any other time in history?
Whilst we focus almost exclusively on good news, it is important to recognise that ecommerce figures have not been great since May 21. However there is some hope that this may have come to an end with the IMRG reporting the first WoW increase in sales (+9%) last month with some sectors really shining. Gardening is up 38.7%!
For those reactionaries amongst you who worrying about 'the youth' and the grave implications of the metaverse....tangible product still appeals - vinyl record sales surge.
We hope you enjoy some other rays of sunshine we have found for you.
Have a great week.
Best wishes,
James & Patrick
